Arroz con Camarones, inspired by Spanish paella, was born in the 16th century during the conquest. Although the year in which paella originated is unknown, the Spanish brought rice to Peru in that century. Over the years, the recipe was adapted with local ingredients. This dish is typical of the Peruvian coast and is made with shrimp, octopus, and other seafood.
Rice with shrimp, in addition to these two main ingredients, can be accompanied by fried ripe plantain, chili sauce, and lemon. This versatility allows you to experiment with different flavors and textures, making each bite a unique experience.
